ADVA Optical Networking has declared that BT Group’s infrastructure division, Openreach will use the ADVA FSP 3000 as the basis for its innovative optical spectrum access (OSA) product in its optical spectrum product series.
OSA has been developed to provide enterprises with high-availability, high-speed and high-bandwidth network connections to address the present competitive business opportunities and establish U.K. as an international business hub. The ADVA FSP 3000 will enable Openreach to transmit large quantity of data all over the U.K. safely and with minimal latency.
The U.K is probably one of the most challenging enterprise communities world-over and the OSA solution offered by Openreach has been developed to cater to a variety of crucial business-driven applications such as disaster recovery and business continuity, virtualized and cloud services, video conferencing, financial trading and data backhaul. With this broad range of services to be satisfied, Openreach collaborated with engineers from ADVA Optical Networking to fully test the network before it was actually deployed.
The ADVA FSP 3000, a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system that can be scaled, is particularly designed for large companies and service providers who need a cost-effective, flexible system that will transmit, multiplex and safeguard high-speed data, voice, storage and video applications. The modular architecture, universal cards, hot-swappable modules, rack-mountable shelves, transparent interfaces and qualifications with several storage area network (SAN) vendors allow the company to satisfy the needs of customers and provide standard protocol services.
