Fibre Optics Marketplace Acquires FibreBase

Fibre Optics Marketplace, which is a division of Adtell, has acquired FibreBase, which is an asset management and mapping solution provided by Corridor Technologies.

FibreBase uses the Oracle relational database to provide complete documentation of the company’s equipment, connectivity both inside and outside the plant. It also documents the company’s fibre optic network down until the sub-ducts and each individual fibre optic.

FibreBase, which is available as a hosted application or as client server application has been integrated with standard software such as Maplinfo and Visio earlier to provide reports and documents on resources and equipments. The system also enables its users to alter the interface according to their needs and provide reports and diagrams according to the needs of a copper or fibre network.

FibreBase can accommodate more than one language and can also include maps, photographs and list of equipment for new networks as well. The records are kept in a centralised manner but can be accessed remotely across the network of the company. Security systems such as task based security and access control lists are used by FibreBase which helps in providing controlled access to its users. This allows the administrators to keep control checks in each level of the database. The FibreBase can accommodate new data to the existing data. This feature helps in linking the new and existing data into the network.
