FARO Technologies has introduced an advanced version of its Focus3D, a novel laser scanner. This laser scanner has been incorporated with a range of new features that ensure remote functionality and improved registration, and is a superior laser scanning solution introduced by the company.
The Focus3D is a sophisticated and smallest laser scanner commercially available and its upgraded version now includes multi-sensor hardware functionality., The hardware functionality includes a height sensor and a compass as an added feature to the present dual axis compensator of the instrument. The orientation and height has been calculated by the new sensors by comparing with a set point for every scan, which decreases post-processing and enhances automatic registration.
The new WLAN remote control integrated in every Focus3D scanner helps the users to remotely execute and download scans. Moreover, this instrument might be set with application-specific adaptors, facilitating the Focus3D scanner to be fixed to a post or used for super-fast or mobile tunnel scanning purposes.
The measurement tools and extra data will be offered through documentation objects by SCENE WebShare 4.9, which is the internet sharing browser of the company. The scans shared by means of WebShare could be examined with various mapping functions or observed directly on the browser. The Chief Executive Officer of FARO stated that the new qualities integrated in this next generation Focus3D laser scanner will enable ease to the clients.
