Philips Uses MediaTek’s Energy-Saving LED TV IC Products

Mediatek, a fabless semiconductor company for digital media and wireless communication solutions, declared that Royal Philips Electronics, a manufacturer of Europe’s second largest TV brand has begun using one of its energy-efficient LED TV IC solution portfolios.

MediaTek TV solutions do not just support digital TV standards globally but its high energy efficiency technology has obtained credit from the leading TV brands in Europe’s eco-friendly market.

General Manager of Digital TV BU at MediaTek, Joe Chen stated that of late, energy efficiency has become one of the key concerns while selecting between digital consumer products. He said that the company is very pleased that Philips has decided to use its TV IC solutions in their LED energy-efficient TV product range. He also felt that Mediatek is the sole solution provider, which can provide support to the customers based on international digital TV standards and common platforms, while offering a versatile customization support.

Philips is a customer-oriented company, which offers innovative digital devices to enhance the lives of the people. Philips aims to offer an enriched experience for its customers and satisfies customer demands for excellent audio-visual requirements and energy-efficient characteristics. MediaTek has released a new line of TV IC solutions and by combining the benefits of Ralink, MediaTek can provide superior communication IC solutions having several applications such as smart/Internet TV, personal computers, blue ray, game-consoles, DVDs, smart phones and tablet PCs.
