CyberOptics, a provider of SMT inspection solutions, has sold its 1000th in-line inspection system to the Chinese electronics manufacturing market. The company has installed over 3,000 systems globally.
The General Manager for Inspection Systems Business at CyberOptics, Dennis Rutherford, has stated that the delivery is a major milestone for the company. He added that the new QX500 AOI platform was driving the growth of the company in the Chinese market.
The QX500 AOI system features a strobed inspection module, which is a special type of image acquisition device. The system provides excellent coverage of defects and has a low rate of false calls. It has the capability to deliver inspection at high-speeds. The QX500 has strobed white lighting which allows it to provide scanning inspection of areas at a speed of 200 cm²/s.
CyberOptics provides process control for companies to increase their product quality and productivity. Companies manufacturing electronic products depend on CyberOptics to foresee the requirements of the electronics industry and provide solutions related to systems, software and sensors.
Rutherford also added that CyberOptics was investing substantially in R&D and intends to launch new products in the following months. As part of the new features, the company’s AOI and SPI solutions would have connectivity through its process monitor SPC package. A closed-loop type of interface with printer manufacturers is another new feature to be introduced.
The QX500 AOI system was launched at the NEPCON China 2010 and it has won three esteemed awards.
