According to the Director of Sales and Marketing at Point Grey, Vladimir Tucakov, the company has developed many innovative products such as the world’s smallest FireWire-b cameras, and the latest Flea3 series will eventually offer the FireWire, GigE, and USB 3.0 interfaces in a small form factor.
The Flea3 FL3-GE GigE vision cameras incorporate standard C-mount lens holder, a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter. It comes with IR cut filter in its color models and with optical window in its monochrome models. Most of the camera control features including exposure, gain, and white balance are automated. It also features gamma and programmable lookup table, customizable power-up settings, and pixel binning. The cameras are compliant with GigE Vision version 1.2 specification, which helps in adapting it to the third-party software packages also. Each GigE vision camera comes with a software library, FlyCapture SDK, which serves as a common interface for control of all cameras from the company in both Linux and Windows. More models are expected in the near future.
