ilumisys has entered into a cooperative partnership agreement with LEDdynamics, which includes licensing for LED fluorescent tube replacement patents.
ilumisys is a spinoff of technology and software company, Altair, and was formed in 2007. The patents belong to the parent company. ilumisys develops and produces solid-state lighting technology. It has filed over 50 patent applications and has invested considerably in research and development activities.
LEDdynamics is a service engineering firm that develops and provides LED technologies and products. It also provides custom design of products, and manufacturing and prototyping services.
The President of ilumisys, Dave Simon, stated that the partnership aims to address the increasing demand in the market for LED lighting products and solutions. The company would be ramping up operations at its Michigan-based manufacturing facility, he added.
LEDdynamics’ President and CTO, Dr. William McGrath, has stated that the partnership was a special opportunity for both the companies to combine their engineering capabilities and expand their manufacturing operations in the U.S. He added that the collaboration would also reinforce the capabilities of the companies in production of novel LED technologies and products. McGrath also said that for more than 10 years LEDdynamics had been committed to manufacturing 100% of its products in the U.S.
