US Lighting Tech (USLT), a California-based provider of induction lighting systems, has been chosen by the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay, as a provider of commercial lighting systems.
The company has supplied high-performance and cost-efficient lighting products designed for campus outdoor areas. USLT has installed its Jersey Series Induction Streetlights in the UCLA campus for lighting the main campus thoroughfares. These streetlights are energy efficient and provide superior cross-area illumination. USLT’s Parker Shoebox Fixture lights for parking lots and the Jersey Series Induction Streetlights have been installed in the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay. When compared to conventional high intensity discharge systems these lights have many advantages.
The lighting projects undertaken at the University of Wisconsin and UCLA are part of a larger green infrastructure initiative. They demonstrate the leadership qualities of the universities in their drive towards better energy efficiency.
USLT’s induction systems have an industrial grading and require minimum maintenance. They have a rated life of 100,000 hours and can help save up to 80% of costs incurred for maintenance and 60% in energy when compared to other technologies. The induction systems provide a superior ‘white’ light, which is a more secure form of keeping the university campuses more brightly lit. They help avoid any adverse incidents in areas such as plazas, parking areas, streets and walk-ways that are frequented by University students.
