Grid Earth, an Austin-based organization with a mission to provide underdeveloped villages with solar powered lamps, Grid Earth has recently supplied the residents of Corozalito Village, Belize with household lamps powered by solar energy. The aim of Grid Earth is to reduce their dependency on and exposure to kerosene lighting as it is harmful.
The Corozalito Village is located in East Belize off the Old Northern Highway. Grid Earth officials were accompanied by residents of Bomba village with whom the residents of Corozalito shared their experiences with the solar powered LED lights, which can be utilized for studying and reading after sunset.
Grid Earth aims to bring villages together and spread the solution of solar powered lights to reduce their dependency on kerosene. The mission of Grid Earth is to improve educational and health conditions as well as improve economies in underdeveloped regions by providing the areas with opportunities for commerce and solar-powered LED lamps for household use. The residents were provided the lighting solution at no cost. The vision of Grid Earth is to observe the quality of life globally and improve the same by providing clean, safe and effective energy sources. This project has ensured one more village is using safe and efficient lighting and would like to extend the same benefit to Bomba village also.
