The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has honored OSRAM SYLVANIA for supporting the Lighting Facts program in day-to-day business activities and showing firm dedication to product validation. OSRAM SYLVANIA is a provider of lighting systems that focuses on energy-efficient and advanced design technology. OSRAM SYLVANIA, one among the nine partners involved in this program, was identified by DOE at the Solid-State Lighting Market introduction workshop held at Seattle.
The Lighting Facts program displays light emitting diode (LED) products for wide-ranging illumination from producers who are dedicated to evaluation of products and precisely report performance output in accordance with industry standards.
Since LED technology has the ability to reduce one-fourth of the energy consumed by the U.S. lighting systems, the Lighting Facts program was developed as a basement for commercializing LED technology successfully. The Lighting Facts label offers an effective and easy method for analyzing color temperature, efficiency of energy, and other essential data needed to evaluate and recognize an effective lighting solution.
OSRAM SYLVANIA utilizes the Lighting Facts label and program to showcase the company's high-performance products. The Lighting Facts label reveals a brief summary about the lighting product’s performance . This adds credit to the lighting products and thereby strengthens users’ confidence in choosing the latest lighting solutions that is available in the market. Precise results have been ensured on the numbers displayed on the label following the IES LM79 test conducted by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.
OSRAM SYLVANIA’s GM of Consumer Lighting LED Retrofits, Phil Rioux, stated that when a huge number of products available in the market depend on various qualitative evaluation credits, the Lighting Facts program provides opportunity for buyers to bring about knowledgeable LED decisions.
