The Surexi LED solution has been developed in collaboration with corporate research facilities and universities and will pave the way for the emerging horticulture market by offering a favorable light source for greenhouses, growth chambers, and vertical farms. The LEDs are also suitable for biopharmacology and tissue culture labs where plant-based pharmaceuticals and vaccines are developed.
The Surexi LED solution has a custom light spectra and eradicates the problems of color separation that are inherent in horticulture LED lighting. The LEDs use the company’s precision beam control and square light pattern to generate light uniformity. They also make sure the plants obtain the same quantity of light, which in turn leads to a more uniform growth. The LEDs come in numerous wavelength combinations to enable researchers and consumers to accurately target photoreceptors such as cryptochromes and phytochromes.
The LED’s package design, measuring 7mm tall, attains utmost plant density in vertical growth conditions. The package is also IP66 rated and offers protection against water in wet and humid locations. The company’s LEDs offer light from the package without requiring expensive and inefficient secondary optics.
