Nokia Siemens Networks delivers GPON technology to EVO, an internet service provider located in central northern Bulgaria.
EVO is delivering new, high bandwidth and high-quality data services including IPTV to its clients. The internet service provider is enhancing its network to boost capacity and offer superior services. Nokia Siemens Networks has signed a contract for three years to provide its Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology for upgradation of EVO’s network.
The CEO of EVO, Rosen Velikov, stated that they aim to enhance the overall experience and satisfaction of their clients by delivering high-quality services and improved network capacity. He added that the solution from Nokia Siemens Networks’ will make the network expansion more cost-effective and also assures high-quality and consistency data services to their clients.
Under the terms of the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks is providing the customer premise equipment (CPE), thus offering the subscribers the choice of simultaneously connecting IPTV, Internet and legacy telephone services. The Optical Line Termination Unit from Nokia Siemens Networks combines traffic from the services and CPEs including maintenance and installation to EVO for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) infrastructure.
