SIEA (Syndicat Intercommunal d’énergie et d’e-communication de l’Ain) announced that it has inked a Partnership Charter with NexterOne, a designer and installer of business solutions.
The contract will enable NexteraOne to become an operator of LIAin, a regional optical fiber network.
Jean-François Pelletier, a representative of SIEA stated that certain parts of the Ain region have limited access to Internet facilities. Pelletier added that by using the LIAin network, a majority of businesses and homes would obtain Internet access by 2013. He also mentioned that the network would cover hamlets and villages.
NexteraOne has participated in the overall network architecture’s design and has installed a backbone built on three Points of Presence. It was also responsible for implementing traffic distribution nodes all over the Ain region. The firm is also currently involved in operational support, training, and project management. It supports SIEA for executing multi-vendor solutions such as FCI, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent, and Cisco.
NextiraOne’s Business Solution Manager for Customised WAN Solutions, Nicolas Kwasniowski mentioned that the company would develop increasingly efficient enterprise solutions by utilizing the LIAin architecture.
