CELESTE, a French broadband internet service provider, has planned to expand its high bandwidth and high performance fiber optic network to all main regions of France. CELESTE has chosen Tellabs to provide the optical transport network for the nation.
The Tellabs 7100 Nano Optical Transport System (OTS) is being installed to deliver various services with additional bandwidth and high reliability at cost-effective rates to new and current customers.
CELESTE is constructing a fiber optic network throughout the nation for over 4,000 kms around France. The network will deliver services of high-bandwidth to new regional markets in France. The Tellabs 7100 Nano allows CELESTE to rapidly and cost-effectively construct the fiber optic network. The company anticipates completing the installation within 18 months.
The completely upgradeable and adjustable Tellabs 7100 Nano OTS allows CELESTE to quickly launch the new service to enterprises situated in the country. To start with, the network will comprise Optical Line Amplifier nodes and ROADM-based, multi-channel nodes. The packet-optical solution from Tellabs can be upgraded to meet service and bandwidth requirements over time. According to the information from Tellabs clients, a Tellabs 7100 Nano OTS solution can decrease operating expenditures by as much as 85% and capital expenditures by up to 65%.
