Vizio announced that it will launch a high efficiency LED lighting collection that will help in decreasing electricity expenses for consumers. The company will launch the lighting collection in the fourth quarter of 2011.
The LED lighting solutions have a glass-free design to prevent shattering, do not contain mercury and are recyclable. They deliver warmer hue of light and lasts for a maximum of 25,000 usage hours.
The partners of Vizio in the LED lighting sector include Seoul Semiconductor and Epistar. Seoul’s VP, Donald Leo stated that Vizio’s LED lighting solutions would enable American consumers to conserve energy and cost. Vizio has shipped more than 2,000,000 televisions in 2010, which is a 2000% increase in overall shipments year over year. This usage of LED technology has decreased the consumption of power substantially.
Ken Lowe, co-founder of Vizio, mentioned that the company has provided high quality technologies for consumers at reasonable prices. Lowe added that the company’s HDTVs would benefit both the environment and the consumers.
