Energetiq Wins Award for Developing Laser-Driven Light Technology

Manufacturer of light sources, Energetiq Technology has won the R&D 100 award for developing a light source technology driven by laser.

EQ-99 LDLS Light Source

The Energetiq EQ-99 LDLS light source is suitable for applications such as advanced imaging and analytical spectroscopy. It is also suitable for applications requiring long lamp life in material sciences and life sciences applications.

The light source comprises near-infrared, visible, and deep ultraviolet light and lasts for a longer time than the traditional scientific lamps. Energetiq’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Blackborrow stated that the light source technology is a trendsetter for designing sophisticated devices. He added that the technology would enable scientists and engineers to obtain long term output, bandwidth, and brightness simultaneously.

The R&D 100 Awards, issued by R&D Magazine, have been a benchmark for an array of industry sectors. The winners of the awards will be acknowledged at the Awards Banquet that will be held in October 2011 in Florida.
