Hubbell Collaborates with Hella to Manufacture LED Lighting Solutions

Manufacturer of lighting fixtures, Hubbell Lighting has collaborated with Hella to produce a non-automotive application for the LED lighting solution.

Hubbell will market and distribute the lighting solution whereas Hella will be involved in designing, developing, and manufacturing lighting modules.

The light engines will be developed at Hella’s units in Illinois and will be deployed into the roadway fixtures. Hella’s LED unit will be combined into Hubbell’s RM family of roadway fixtures and will be distributed as a retrofit unit for the roadway lighting solutions. The companies are expected to unveil the lighting solutions during the third quarter of 2011.

Hubbell Outdoor, Industrial and Emergency Lighting’s VP, Richard Abernethy stated that by retrofitting street lights, municipalities could implement a cost-efficient and sustainable solution to preserve energy. Hella is a manufacturer of lighting and electronic components for the automotive industry. It also manufactures vehicle modules, air-conditioning systems and vehicle electric systems.
