Big Chip LEDs manufacturer, Luminus Devices has announced that the PT-54 LED chipset developed by Luminus is being used to power LG’s latest portable high brightness LED projector, the LG HW300T.
The portable HW300T projector integrates Smart TV features such as social networking services and in-built access to pre-paid HD movies from Vudu. The wireless connection of the portable projector is a digital living network alliance (DLNA) protocol compatible and provides access to content stored on networked devices such as personal computers. Additionally, the HW300T features an in-built Microsoft Office compatible file viewer.
The marketing team leader of LG Electronics, Brian Park stated that the portable 5th generation LED projector is compact and energy efficient, consuming less than 100 W power. Luminus’ Director of global product marketing for Display Business Group, Stephane Bellosguardo stated that the HW300T uses the native RGB Big Chip LEDs to deliver superior color and can scale up to 100” in size. Bellosguardo also added that features such as in-built adaptive speakers, internet and movie streaming capability eliminate the setup process required by traditional projectors. The technology is RoHS compliant and mercury-free.
The LG HW300T was highlighted at booth number 2589 at Infocomm 2011 from 15-17 June at Florida’s Orange County Convention Center, Orlando.
