ESCORT Releases Radar Detector with GPS-based TrueLock Technology and Defender Database

Laser and radar detector manufacturer, ESCORT has released the PASSPPORT 8500ci Plus, which includes a Defender Database, which offers speed camera and red light protection.

The easy to install PASSPORT 8500ci Plus includes an ambient-sealed radar/laser detector and a display controller, which mounts in the cockpit.

The President and CEO of ESCORT, John Larson stated that unlike other remote systems, the in-vehicle display of the 8500ci reassures the driver with various alerts and detailed information.

The custom installed radar detector is capable of long range performance against all modes of laser and radar and all guns and available presently. The PASSPORT 8500ci Plus also features TrueLock, ESCORT’s patented GPS-based technology to manually disable false alerts and an intrinsic location awareness technology, which provides the speed camera and red light location to the driver.

The features of the PASSPORT 8500ci Plus includes several ESCORT technologies. ExpertMeter displays and alerts the driver of multiple radar threats, AutoSensitivity adjusts the radar performance automatically based on driving speed, Cruise Alert, SpecDisplay helps determine the precise frequency of a threat-source and Mark Location enables the driver to index locations for future references, Traffic Signal Rejection (TSR) software. The PASSPORT 8500ci can also be personalized with 11 user-selectable settings.

The PASSPORT 8500ci Plus is also compatible with ESCORT’s ShifterPack.
