AngioDynamics Introduces Longer Gold-Tip Laser Fiber Kit for its VenaCure EVLT System

AngioDynamics has expanded its endovenous laser vein cure system called VenaCure EVLT with the introduction of a 90 cm NeverTouch gold-tip laser fiber kit with a lengthy TRE-Sheath introducer.

The longer procedure kit in combination with a lengthy TRE-Sheath introducer will allow the VenaCure EVLT system to access vascular over the ankle for the cure of varicose veins that spread below the knee. The kit lengths currently available are 65, 45 and 25 cm.

The NeverTouch gold-tip’s major advancement is a glass weld at a 600 µm fiber’s distal tip, decreasing the power density by 56% at the tip when compared to the power density of a 600 µm fiber’s standard bare-tip. The weld also produces an efficient fiber with a 905 µm diameter. This offers a uniform ablation, while lowering focal charring of the wall of the veins commonly observed with bare-tip fibers.

The tip covered with a gold casing optimizes the visibility of the tip in ultrasound and eradicates the probability of unintentional contact of the fiber tip with the vein wall, resulting in the enhancement of the comfort level and safety of the patients.

According to Tom Kupec, who serves as VP of Marketing at AngioDynamics, the longer NeverTouch fiber further improves the treatment procedure and flexibility of the product.
