Aurora Networks Unveils Chassis-Based Optical Line Termination GE3424M Module

Aurora Networks has introduced its chassis-based optical line termination (OLT) GE3424M module. This module endorses the company’s proven Node PON system that allowed cable operators to offer expanded bandwidth access for business solutions.

The OLT GE3424M endorses DOCSIS Provisioning of EPON to enhance current DOCSIS OSS systems, making the module suitable for providing services to customers inside 20 km surroundings of the hub or headend. The flexible PON solutions of Aurora Networks are compatible with fiber deep and FTTP (fiber-to-the-premises) and HFC (hybrid fiber coaxial) networks.

The GEPON OLT module with dual PON port for the CH3000 chassis, GE3424M can be used with any regular aggregation switch or edge router specifically for high-density applications. The PON solutions are exclusively designed to allow cable operators to maintain their current investments in the back office Operation Support Systems and Network Management Systems for subscriber accounting, billing and management services.

The GE3424M is suitable for installing indoor PON solutions as in dense applications that are not restricted by the availability of fiber and distance. The node-based GE4132M OLT of Aurora tackles the restrictions of fiber availability and distance by harnessing the standard CWDM Gigabit Ethernet connections and the HFC backbone fiber network for specific installations.
