California-based LittleFootprint Lighting has introduced the HeronLED Personal Task Light for home office and corporate environments.
LittleFootprint Lighting’s CEO, Nancy Wahl-Scheurich said that HeronLED lamp is a task lighting product made of recycled materials, and it is cost-efficient and recyclable. She also added that it is modeled and produced in the USA to sustain a greener planet.
The HeronLED lamp is the first desk lamp made of e-waste such as computers, phones, printers, refrigerators, TVs and VCRs. HeronLED Personal Task Light is available in an ergonomic design and comes with a replaceable LED bulb. It gives a warm white light and utilizes 7-10 times less energy when compared to standard desk lamps.
The LED light source present in the HeronLED lamp utilizes only a portion of the energy used by CFL or incandescent bulbs. The adjustable design allows the user to change the direction of the warm white light where it is required. The LED-based desk lamp is made from recycled steel and plastic and it does not have mercury in it. Since the lamp is made from recycled materials and contents, it minimizes carbon footprint and reduces energy usage.
