Span Telecom of India and SKYFIBER have collaborated to offer SKYFIBER’s Optical Wireless Broadband solutions to India and its adjacent nations.
With this partnership, Span Telecom will offer cost-effective, high capacity optical wireless broadband connections in spectrum-saturated regions. The company has been involved in the advancement and promotion of new technology initiatives for India such as location based services, lawful monitoring solutions and expandable network security solutions.
SKYFIBER uses infrared light in its Optical Wireless Broadband technology to provide broadband connectivity of more than 1 Gbps at a lesser cost to that of technologies using In-Ground Fiber, Millimeter wave or Microwave. The technology is suitable for transmitting ultra secure data transactions, easing mobility backhaul blockages, linking educational/medical/business campuses and a range of other important applications.
The easy-to-install, compact and reliable Optical Wireless Broadband requires less than a day to deploy and operate a 1Gig link up.
According to Lalit Chandak, who serves as President at Span Telecom, the company sees a huge market potential for Optical Wireless Broadband as cost efficiency is equally important to bandwidth expansion, particularly in areas experiencing congested, unlicensed spectrum.
