Multimode to Single Mode Fiber Media Converters from Perle Systems

Perle Systems, a worldwide provider of secure device and Ethernet over fiber networking solutions, has launched more than 100 new Multimode to Single Mode Fiber Media Converters.

The products have the capability to extend the fiber connections of multimode to multimode and multimode to single mode types to distances of up to 160 km.

Fiber to Fiber Media Converters

Perle has specifically designed the Fiber Media Converters for Ethernet fiber applications. Ethernet transceivers in Perle’s Fiber Converters reproduce the signals obtained before transmitting it to the port of the other fiber transceivers. This assures a robust signal across individual fiber link, denoting the integrity of the fiber links. On-board microcontrollers in the Media Converters handle recovery and detection of errors.

Perle’s Fiber Media Converters address the fiber extension needs of current fiber optic installations and their multimode fiber-based hardware.

The company has a range of Fiber Media Converters to transmit 10BaseT, Gigabit Ethernet over fiber and Fast Ethernet. The addition of the Fiber to Fiber Media Converters has further extended this portfolio.
