Pioneer in optical and radio frequency transport networks, SOLiD Technologies has proclaimed that its MediaC-1600 fiber access system, a groundbreaking laser solution, has been chosen by Quantum Communications to provide Gigabit-Ethernet services.
Quantum Communications, an Oregon-based local exchange carrier, is putting its efforts to deliver ultra-speed, economical and reliable data communication services to corporate customers across central Oregon.
The Vice President of Business Development at SOLiD Technologies, Saeed Anwar stated that the MediaC-1600, SOLiD’s latest optical product, is ideal for Quantum Communications. The company’s fiber-saving solution facilities service providers to improve fiber capacity without installing new fiber or increasing the current fiber plant, he added.
Anwar further said that the MediaC-1600 is resistant to temperature changes, rough connectors and reflections. The company’s association with Quantum demonstrates the ability of its proprietary laser solution in delivering numerous Gigabit services without diminishing distances exceeding 60 km, he added.
The Director of Engineering and Operations at Quantum Communications, Scott Church stated that the MediaC-1600 utilizes tunable laser modules. The plug-and-play solution can also assist numerous sites at various distances without requiring fine-tuning or modification, enabling Quantum to offer security, redundancy, bandwidth solutions that are not possible with other CWDM solutions, he added.
