Lighting Science Launches Low-Cost Omnidirectional LED Bulbs

Lighting Science Group, a company specializing in design, development, manufacture and marketing of energy efficient and environmentally friendly LED lighting solutions, has launched a high output, low-cost range of LED lighting products. The products, launched on Earth Day, will be listed on America's online retailer, Amazon.com.

Lighting Science’s Omnidirectional A19 8.5 watt LED bulb

The new 8.5 W A19 omnidirectional LED bulb from Lighting Science is 75% more energy efficient when compared to a standard incandescent bulb. It has an operating life of around 23 years. The A19 LED bulb is also more efficient than CFLs. It does not contain any mercury and is completely recyclable.

The company had tested the LED bulbs at an independent laboratory that had been approved under the CALiPER program of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Lighting Science intends to launch a 60 W version as well as MR, PAR and BR LED bulb types on Amazon.com.
