Neutex Advanced Energy Group to Build New Corporate Headquarters

Neutex Advanced Energy Group has announced that a new corporate headquarters will be constructed by recycling a 40,000 sq ft facility in Houston.

The reconstructed facility will serve as a manufacturing unit for the company’s energy-efficient and innovative LED lighting solutions. The new headquarters will also include Neutex’s R&D clean-rooms and corporate operations.

Neutex made the decision to use a vacant, existing building and turn it into a LEED certified structure. This was achieved by re-using lumber and steel framing and using funds obtained from recycling metal frames and lead sheets to buy new ones for the facility.

The new headquarters will provide employment opportunities if sales targets are met. More than 50 more positions are expected after the LED manufacturing unit begins the LED operation in May 2011.

Houston’s Mayor, Annise Parker stated that Neutex is setting an example for other companies that sustainable practices can aid business’ bottom line.
