Millerbernd Lighting’s turtle-friendly coastal lighting solution has received the Florida Wildlife Lighting Certification. The non-corrosive MBT-24 S.S. Turtle Bollard is suitable for use in ecologically sensitive places such as migratory corridors and sea turtle nesting beaches.
The Wildlife Lighting Certification Program is a joint effort between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. It stresses on using proper lighting technologies and methods to minimize the adverse impact on wildlife. The Wildlife Lighting Certification Program recognizes lighting fixtures, lamps and shields suitable for use in ecologically sensitive areas affected by light pollution.
Environmental specialist at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Eric Seckinger stated that the MBT-24 Bollard fulfilled the criteria for the Wildlife Lighting Certification.
Kenny Wolfe from the Lighting Solutions of Alabama stressed that the amber LED bollard made of 316 stainless steel is an ecologically friendly solution in corrosive coastal environments.
The national sales director for Millerbernd Lightning, Mitch Gaida stated that the Turtle Bollard is a cost-effective solution designed to save turtles lives.
