Digital Lumens and Groom Energy have announced that Intelligent LED Lighting Systems designed by Digital Lumens will be installed at the Americold facilities located in Utah, Massachusetts and Wisconsin.
The LED lighting systems will be capable of producing better quality lighting and will aid in reducing the total energy consumption by 90% or 2,300,000 kWhs per year. Americold facilities in Texas, Illinois, Arkansas and Alabama will be upgraded over the next few months. A reduction of 3.3 million kWhs of energy can be achieved. This will also aid in reducing 3.25 million pounds of CO2 emission yearly.
Working in tandem with Americold’s site managers, Groom Energy has developed configuration, which has been customized based on the requirements of the location along with management of installation, training and system commissioning.
The Intelligent LED Lighting solution produces high light levels that are evenly distributed. It functions only when operators are in the vicinity and intelligently dims to nightlight levels when operators leave the area. The mesh-networked lighting device constantly tracks and reports energy savings and energy consumption.
