Microchip Technology has added the PIC16LF190X MCUs to its portfolio of 8-bit segmented LCD microcontrollers (MCUs).
The PIC16LF190X series renders extended battery life and supports various general-purpose applications. It has the ability to drive a segmented LCD and to manage precise timing with a RTC.
The MCUs include a host of optimized features such as up to 14 10-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter channels, up to 512 bytes of RAM, and 14 KB of Flash program memory. Other features include the ability to drive up to 116 LCD segments, temperature indicator, and serial communication. Using the MCUs, users can attain cost-effective LCD solutions for a wide range of portable communication products.
The eXtreme Low Power (XLP) technology in the MCUs delivers an active current of 35 ìA/MHz and sleep currents less than 20 nA. The PIC16LF190X series can be used to implement LCD into various cost-effective devices such as home appliances, security tokens, smart cards, key fobs, medical devices and much more.
