Wavien, a technology-licensing company that develops illumination systems for entertainment lighting systems, digital projection, architectural lighting and fiber optics, is demonstrating prototypes of its Recycling Light Technology (RLT) applications at the CinemaCon 2011 in Las Vegas.
Wavien’s RLT is a low-cost and compact passive component technology that has the ability to boost the useable light output of LED lights up to 2 times. RLT collects light that gets wasted in normal illumination systems and redirects it into a useful beam of light.
Wavien is demonstrating prototypes and products of its RLT ultra-bright illuminators and projectors for digital cinemas and other applications that require an output between 100-24,000 lumens. A seven LED array enables small-theatre and ballroom RLT-LED projector systems with an output of 6,500 lumens, wide-screen HD RLT-LED projectors with 12,000 lumens, and Quad-HD RLT-LED projector system with 24,000 on-screen lumens for bright 3D.
Ultra-bright GOBO Projectors that have either RLT-enabled LEDs or DPR light sources featuring 7-RLT-LED-arrays with an output of 6,000 lumens are also being demonstrated. MR-16 RLT-LED, 15W Spot-Type Downlights and RLT-LED Flashlights providing output ranging from 1500-20,000 lumens are the other products being targeted at theatre-owners, exhibitors, illumination system developers and projector developers.
