DFT Launches New Feature-Enhanced SCANITY Film Scanner

DFT Digital Film Technology, a company that delivers advanced digital post production solutions, will exhibit its latest feature-enhanced SCANITY 4K/2K film scanner at NAB 2011, SL11608.

The SCANITY 4K/2K film scanner brings out a host of new features such as film shrinkage measurement, variable scaling, automated D-min functionality, infrared channel and dirt processing. Other features include background rendering and batch processing and audio scanning. The former delivers digitally improved images, while the latter allows users to read about magnetic and optical audio tracks.

The background rendering and batch processing feature allows users to produce files with altered images, reduced grains, and softened contours. Moreover, this feature generates files with necessary size and color space modifications. The Infrared Channel and Dirt Processing feature in the SCANITY covers up minute abrasions without compromising the scanning speed.

The automatic D-min feature offers automatic analysis of settings and minimum density of light levels. The variable scaling feature is useful for changing the size of images and the film shrinkage measurement feature reveals data about film shrinkage and assures that both audio and image scans are organized during scanning.
