Sabritec, provider of ultra performance, accurate interconnect solutions and a unit of Smiths Interconnect, will exhibit its new copper-to-fiber optic transceiver called Electroptical Cable Assembly at the 2011 Optical Fiber Communication Conference and National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (OFC/NFOEC).
The event will be conducted at the Los Angeles Convention Center from 8 March, 2011. The company will highlight the latest advancements in interconnect technology at the conference.
Design engineers normally use copper as the signal transmission vehicle for commercial and military aviation operating conditions. However, the bandwidth restrictions, size and weight of copper are some of the issues faced by design engineers. To overcome these difficulties, Sabritec engineers have designed the innovative fiber optic system as a substitute for copper.
Reduced weight and minimum radio frequency interference and electromagnetic interference are the major characteristics of the Sabritec transceiver solution. These features will facilitate design engineers in the space and aviation markets to achieve higher signal consistency and greater fuel efficacy.
The President at Sabritec, Scott Pianalto commented that the optical transceiver’s sophisticated fiber optic technology is resistant to electromagnetic pulse and electronic noise and offers long signal transmission and high bandwidth.
