NanoPhotonica Begins Mass Production of Displays with QLED Technology

NanoPhotonica, provider of sophisticated materials and production technologies, proclaimed that it has begun the commercial production of its innovative Quantum Dot LED (QLED) display technology.

The S-QLED technology offers better image quality and consumes 30% less power than the recently launched OLED displays. According to the company, displays using the S-QLED technology will have extended operating life and will reduce the ownership cost by 75% compared to the OLED displays.

NanoPhotonica is collaborating with various display producers to commercialize the display products using its patented technology. Earlier, independent lab results have revealed the technology’s performance benefits.

The Chief Executive Officer at NanoPhotonica, Christopher Morton, stated that the company is gearing up its efforts with new and existing display producers to commercialize the QLED technology as soon s possible. The company’s materials are offering similar innovations in the solar market. It will declare more such programs very soon, he added.
