An Enterprise and Consumer Internet Service provider in India, Sify Technologies has announced plans to activate its capacities in the Europe India Gateway (EIG) submarine cable system.
Sify will be the first ICT player to make strategic investments in EIG in order to expand its operations globally.
An advanced submarine cable system worth USD 700 million, EIG delivers high-capacity fiber-optic cable to provide customers a solution to their communication needs. When fully functional, the EIG will be the only high-bandwidth optical fiber system connecting India to UK directly. Sify‘s partners and clients in Europe, America and India will be the first to benefit with the extended network.
Gulf Bridge International (GBI), an exclusive partner of Sify, will be a key player in providing information and communication technology services worldwide.
Raju Vegesna, the Chairman of Sify, stated that they are collaborating with telecom partners in the Middle East to provide uninterrupted network services to US, Indian and Asian carriers that will help them connect to countries such as Kenya, Djibouti, Somalia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Madagascar, South Africa Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, Sudan and Iraq. With over 50 Gbps of bandwidth between Europe, Middle East and India, the company will be able to forge its presence on the worldwide telecom map, Vegesna said.
