Sigma, specialist in photographic technologies, has introduced a new digital camera with 46 MP direct image sensor, called the SIGMA SD1 digital SLR camera.

The rugged, lightweight camera with O-ring sealing connections is dust and splash proof and thus can be used in adverse conditions.

The SIGMA SD1 integrates image-processing engines of dual Three-layer Responsive Ultimate Engine (TRUE) II and an APS-C X3 direct image sensor that measures 24x16 mm. These features assure high-resolution pictures that can be processed swiftly with high definition and enables fine graduation of colour. The image sensor makes the camera to capture all main RGB colours at all pixel positions and thus assures the capture of full colour.

The SIGMA SD1 has a 3" TFT colour display with a pixel resolution of 460,000. The LCD monitor has a wide viewing angle, which makes it simple to verify composition and focusing. The camera is compatible with more than 40 Sigma optical lenses, including fisheyes, macro, ultra-telephoto and ultra-wide.
