Protokraft Introduces Direct 9 Optoelectronic Solutions for Optical Communication Applications

Protokraft, manufacturer of high-speed optoelectronic solutions, has rolled out the Direct 9 Series of optoelectronic solutions that enhance optical network performance in adverse environment applications.

DB-9 Optical Solution

The company collaborated with Sabritec to provide a DB-9/ARINC 801-based optical component solution for optical fiber communication applications.

The Direct 9 series of optoelectronic solutions comprise fiber-optic receiver and transmitter functions, which are integrated into a DB-9 shell. The optoelectronic transceivers are intermateable with ARINC 801 DB-9 connectors. The optical transmitters feature 850 nm VCSELs whereas the optical receivers feature limiting post-amplifiers, preamplifier assemblies, and a GaAs PIN.

The optical transceivers’ optical interface facilitates convenient interconnection to flexible printed circuits, backplanes, and printed circuit cards. They feature LVPECL or CMOS signal detect functions on the Loss of Signal pins and LVPECL, LVDS, or CML data signals on the Receive pins.

The Direct 9 optoelectronic solutions are ideal for optical communication applications between 100 Mbps and 5 Gbps. They are ESD, vibration, and shock resistant and operate from -40 to +85°C.
