Casio to Showcase Laser + LED Hybrid Light Engine at 2011 Digital Signage Expo

Casio America announced that it will exhibit its Laser & LED Hybrid light engine at the 2011 Digital Signage Expo to be held in Las Vegas.

The Laser & LED Hybrid light engine is an ideal replacement for mercury lamps in conventional data projectors and can generate a maximum brightness of 3000 lm. The light engine delivers a wide range of colors for various digital signage applications.

The light engine integrates a fluorescent element and a blue laser light to produce a green light. The light emitted by a red LED, the blue laser light and the green light are projected via DLP chip, which passes via the projection lens to form into an image. The light source technology attains increased color spectrum and reduces the projector’s cost of ownership. The projector has an estimated life time of 20,000 h, minimizes down time and saves replacement cost, when compared to mercury lights.

Casio’s VP of Business Projector Division, Frank Romeo stated that the light engine offers long operation time for digital signage applications.
