Juki Introduces Low-Cost Placement System for LED Chips

Pioneer in automated assembly systems and products, Juki has launched a new placement systems for the LED assembly industry called the JX-200LED.

The high-speed placement system has new algorithms for placing top- and side-view LEDs, PLCC-type and ferrite chip-type LEDs in expanding segments such as LCD backlights, laptop computers and numerous lighting devices.

The JX-200LED has an upward looking camera for BGA ball and QFN/QFP lead assessment, and 12 cm board functionality with multi-indexing. In addition, the placement solution can support a 47.2" board when indexed three times in the machine, and a 31.5x14" board size when indexed two times.

The JX-200LED utilizes the same advanced resolution, optical vision centering placement technology, an integral part in all types of Juki products. The parts are revolved 360° in the laser. The system also endorses an automatic tool changer that allows automatic modifications of several nozzles during the production process.

The JX-200LED can place 15,300 chips at IPC 9850 per hour and has a tri-colored vision centering system for placing fine-pitch QFNs, BGAs and QFPs for improved precision and flexibility.
