Optical instruments manufacturer, Aven has launched a new high-definition (HD) microscopy camera for research and education applications. The 1.3 MP color inspection camera features a calibration software and can record both angular and linear measurements in inches.
The camera can be connected directly to a monitor through a VGA cable and does not require a computer to view and save the images or video. It includes a number of features such as automatic or manual white balance, automatic exposure, variable pointer color, adjustable RGB values and edge detection. The camera has a built-in SD memory card that can store point-and-click measurement photos and information. The screen pointer in the camera is managed through a PS2 mouse attachment and can be configured as a small center or full-screen crosshair.
In addition to the HD microscopy camera, Aven has launched a 1.3 MP VGA camera for those applications that do not need on-screen measurements. The HD microscopy accessory also features VGA connection, SD memory card, auto exposure, white balance and RGB values. It is available with four horizontal and four vertical crosshair grid settings.
Both camera models feature a 1/2.5 CMOS sensor and record 30 fps at 1440x900 resolution. They are suitable for QC checks of assembly parts and samples, medical laboratory work, biotechnology research and electronics fabrication.
