Algerie Telecom to Deploy Fiber-Optic Cables in Tebessa, Algeria

el-Mujahid online announced that Algerie Telecom is planning to develop 228 km of optical fiber cables close to Tebessa, the capital of Algeria.

According to Algerie Telecom, the company will deploy the fiber-optic cables in the Wilaya province of Tebessa, which is situated in the North Eastern part of the country.

The new fiber-optic cables, measuring 30 km, will be deployed between El Aouinet and Ouenza. Similarly, 30, 78 and 90 km fiber-optic cables will be deployed between Cheria and Hammamet, Cheria and Bir El Ater and Tebessa and Ouenza, respectively. After the fiber-optic project is completed, the length of the network is expected to reach 446 km.

The fiber-optic network project will enable 50% of houses in Tebessa to gain access to fiber-optic network. Algerie Telecom stated that although its main aim is to substitute its legacy infrastructure, it also hopes to enhance the broadband connection in the region.
