Provider of packet-optical transport solutions, Cyan announced that Woodstock Telephone has chosen its CyNOC service, CyMS multi-layer management system and Z-Series multi-layer transport platforms to expand the fiber-optic network.
The network will be developed from American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grants and loans worth over $15 million.
Woodstock’s fiber-optic network will reach numerous communities across four counties, which presently do not have high-speed broadband services. Businesses and residences, after completion of the network, will have the opportunity to avail maximum broadband speeds of 20 Mbps for sophisticated data and voice services.
Woodstock will develop two transport rings to support FTTP network, which will reach businesses and homes. It will deploy Cyan's Z-Series packet optical transport solutions to scale the networks. Cyan’s Z33 and Z77 platforms will be installed within the transport rings to support various service modules. The platforms will offer sophisticated Ethernet services with ROADM, DWDM, OTN and SONET/SDH functions to scale the network services.
The CyMS management system will offer a clear picture into the network with 3D network visualization to show the link between transport layers and services. Cyan’s CyNOC services not only reduces the costs of rolling out new services but also speeds up their delivery of services, thereby offering a competitive edge to service providers.
