GAO Comm has launched a new CATV cable fault locator with a double cursor LCD display. The 6130 cable fault locator determines the impedance break point in HFC products. In addition, it locates and shows terminal impedance failure, tie-in dampness as well as cable damage.
The cable fault locator offers precise pulse propagation for diverse cable types. It locates and displays the distance to various RF cable faults including high resistance points, open circuits or short circuits. In addition, for easy fault detection, the locator offers an intuitive electronic map related to the time domain picture.
The 6130 utilizes the Time Domain Reflection (TDR) technology and makes precise re-tests of related cables after tests and calibration are done on a cable with specific length. In addition, the device has powerful analysis and self-testing features and is suitable for testing cables of 100, 75, 50 and 25 Ohm impedance across a wide measurement range of 15 m - 2 km. The locator can be linked to a PC for data analysis and file upload.
