Moser Baer Collaborates with Universal Display to Accelerate OLED Lighting Production

Universal Display and Moser Baer Technologies have entered into a license agreement in the OLED solid-state-lighting segment.

Under the terms of the agreement, Moser Baer will license the OLED technology from Universal and buy UniversalPHOLED (phosphorescent OLED) materials to manufacture white OLED panels.

The agreement allows both companies to collaborate for five years to develop the US-based OLED panel-manufacturing project of Moser Baer. Previously, the companies collaborated to obtain a $4,000,000 funding from the US Department of Energy (DOE), as part of the construction of the first white OLED production plant in the US. The new agreement will aid in strengthening the plans for the development of white OLEDs.

The pilot production plant of Moser Baer is significant for the development of the OLED manufacturing facility in the country. The development of white OLED sources would be used for general lighting applications.
