iWatt has introduced a new LED driver IC that is ideal for 120/230 VAC offline industrial and commercial LED lighting applications.
The iW3614 LED driver IC is a trailing- and leading- edge-dimmable, primary-side-regulated, power-factor-corrected (PFC), AC/DC Digital PWM Controller and is utilized in space-restricted incandescent replacement lamps.
The LED driver IC provides hot-plug support and is compatible with all wall dimmers. The IC’s features ensure decreased component and size costs, durability, and power efficacy. The device has a two-stage PFC scheme on one chip. It has a front-stage boost converter that allows PF of more than 0.90. The subsequent PWM driver stage reduces ripple current that occurs at the output.
The company’s high switching frequency, quasi-resonant switching, primary side control, and digital control deliver decrease bill of materials (BOM), driver size, component count, and thermal loss.
