Aven, manufacturer of optical instruments, has introduced a new range of microscopes that capture magnified videos and images conveniently.
The zipScope models enable storage of research, medical, and inspection records as well as computer screen viewing. The company demonstrated the zipScope microscopes at the Medical Device & Manufacturing (MD&M) West Expo held in California.
Each zipScope model features eight white LEDs and a 0.5” CMOS image sensor for durability and comfort. The microscopes are ideal for close-up shots of coins and stamps, training manuals, warranty claim documentation, jewelry appraisals, textile and printing quality control, presentation slides, education and electronic parts checks.
The microscopes have optical magnification of 10x-50x for the USB version and 10x-20x for the wireless version. The image-capture software in the microscopes is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, and XP. Each zipScope model has a focus range from 10 to 500 mm and feature automatic white balance and automatic exposure. The cordless style zipScope can shoot AVI format video at 15 fps, while the hard-wired zipScope records video at 30 fps.
