BSH Receives Stimulus Grant for Energy Efficient Lighting Projects

New Bern plant at BSH Home Appliances has received $142,899 from the N.C. Energy Office, as part of energy efficiency lighting projects. The funding allows the plant to replace over 600 light fixtures.

The federal grant was one of the 11 nonprofit, industrial or commercial awards created to generate jobs for contractors who work with business enterprises to enhance building efficiency. Funds were offered to 43 private and public agencies. The state offered about 90% of the funds assigned for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant programs and the State Energy Program.

Gov. Bev Perdue stated that the lighting projects would make government and business  facilities to become more efficient in terms of energy and cost.
