Comprehensive Report on Optical Transport Industry

Dell'Oro Group has published a new forecast report on the optical transport industry. The report provides a detailed analysis of the optical transport industry with data on manufacturers’ average selling prices, revenue, Wavelength shipments or unit shipments Tributary/Line.

According to the report, the total global revenue of optical transport equipment is expected to increase to $17.3 billion in the next five years. The market growth would be driven by WDM revenues that would increase at a CAGR of 12% in the next five years. In addition, the report examines the optical switch, multiservice SONET/SDH, WDM metro, and DWDM long haul terrestrial equipment.

Dell'Oro Group’s Sr. Director of Optical Transport Research, Jimmy Yu stated that the WDM metro and DWDM long haul revenues would increase quickly compared to the broader optical market. He added that to maximize the network capacity cost-effectively, the deployments of ultra-speed optical wavelengths including 100 and 40 gigabit are necessary.
