Extron Electronics has launched a new fiber optic transmitter and receiver set called the FOXBOX HDMI for extended haul transportation of HDMI audio, video and RS-232 control signals via fiber optic cable.
The FOXBOX HDMI is durable and utilizes Extron’s proprietary all digital, zero compression technology to offer exact pixel-for-pixel broadcast of HDMI computer-video pictures of up to WUXGA 1920x1200 resolution, comprising HDTV 1080p/60.
The FOXBOX HDMI comes in singlemode and multimode models, including EDID Minder, Key Minder, internal test patterns, Auto Input Memory, real-time system monitoring and RS-232 control from numerous locations. The Key Minder endorses constant validation of HDCP compliance and the EDID Minder controls EDID transmission, offering improved and easy integration with HDMI equipment. The FOXBOX HDMI comes in smaller housings that enable discreet deployment at the back of a flat-panel display.
The FOXBOX HDMI is compatible with FOX line of switchers, distribution amplifiers and matrix switchers, enabling the development of systems that feature numerous HDMI outputs and inputs to support business deployments. It can also be used with Fox series DVI and VGA extenders when broadcasting non-HDCP content. The FOXBOX HDMI can be combined with Fox series VGA extenders to enable effortless adaptation between HDMI and RGB in hybrid AV devices that comprise various digital and analog sources and displays.
