SW Solarwatt to Distribute Ascent Solar’s CIGS Solar Modules in Greece and Cyprus

Manufacturer of thin-film solar modules, Ascent Solar Technologies, declared that it has chosen SW Solarwatt to distribute its ultra-power, flexible and lightweight thin-film CIGS solar modules for building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) uses in Cyprus and Greece.

SW Solarwatt designs and deploys solar arrays across Greece and Cyprus, especially in off-grid and grid-linked photovoltaic systems for commercial and residential purposes.

Ascent Solar Technologies’ distribution deal with SW Solarwatt strengthens the company’s presence in the emerging solar power market in the Eastern Mediterranean region. Ascent Solar’s photovoltaic solar modules will be used on building materials for both off-grid and grid-linked solutions.

Farhad Moghadam, President and Chief Executive Officer at Ascent Solar, said that the agreement would allow the company to incorporate its lightweight and flexible thin-film CIGS solar modules in numerous applications ranging from portable power to grid-connected rooftop deployments and other off-grid stand-alone applications.
